Was Klamath County Boy Kidnapped, Not Lost?
Klamath County -- Detectives now say they have a “person of interest” in the case of a long-missing Klamath County boy.
Derrick Engebretson disappeared while on an outing to cut a Christmas tree with his family in December, 1998.
Detectives say they can't elaborate on who this “person of interest” is or why the person is a suspect. The information is coming from a detective in Salem, not Klamath County.
The boy’s mother, Lori Engebretson, says she has always thought Derrick was kidnapped… rather than got lost somewhere near Rocky Point.
