MISSING PERSON

The Oregon State Police and Klamath County Sheriff’s Department is conducting follow up investigation on the missing person case of 8 year old DERRICK JAMES ENGEBRETSON. Derrick James Engebretson was reported missing on December 5, 1998, during an outing with his father and grandfather in the Rocky Point area of rural Klamath County. An extensive search failed to locate the boy.

Investigators are looking into the possibility that Derrick may have been abducted. The Oregon State Police and Klamath County Sheriff’s Department are asking for any information from the public that was living or visiting in the Klamath Falls area during the time of Derrick’s disappearance, that remembers seeing or may have information on the three following areas of interest. The information regarding the below listed vehicle was developed through investigation and is being followed up on to eliminate or include as credible information on this case.

An adult male struggle with a boy in the Rocky Point area on December 5, 1998.
